Each variant is tuned to a specific signal temperature — the point at which the indicator freezes and stops any color change from occurring.
Our most popular product, the Pinktail BX™ 0C is used by researchers, academics and biobanks to ensure sample integrity. Available in multiple run-times at room temperature, the Pinktail BX™ 0C is fast enough to detect dangerous excursions and suitable for samples exposed to multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Similar to the BX 0C except no color change takes place until temperatures above –18 °C are reached. Useful when monitoring products stored below –20 °C and/or products that go through multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Faster than the BX 0C because the indicator color change starts as soon as temperatures rise above –18 °C.
Part of the deep freeze product collection intended for long-term deep storage applications, ultra-cold sample management and critical cold-chain shipments. The indicator exhibits no color change below –37 °C and remains bright pink for years. Specifically formulated to last about 2 days at –20 °C, it can also be used as a time indicator for shelf-life sensitive products.
Time to clear at –20 °C can vary by ±10% of advertised value.
Part of the deep freeze product collection for long-term deep storage, ultra-cold sample management and critical cold-chain shipments. This is the lowest signal temperature offered. Specifically formulated to last about 3 months at –40 °C and 2 days at –20 °C, it can also be used as a time indicator for shelf-life sensitive products.
Time to clear below –20 °C can vary by ±10% of advertised value.
